Once listed as one the top 10 international food and wine events by ForbesTravel.com, the St. Croix Food & Wine Experience is the annual benefit of St. Croix Foundation for Community Development and has raised over $1.5 million since its inception. But just as important as the critical dollars for the Foundation’s operations is the sense of community and philanthropy that the event imbues into every tasty morsel and every sip of wine.

In early 2020, just as the Foundation was gearing up for another great year, COVID-19 forced us to cancel the benefit and as the pandemic continued, 2021 as well. As conditions improved, the Experience returned with our signature food and wine event, Wine in the Warehouse.

Today, the St. Croix Food & Wine Experience’s Wine in the Warehouse raises awareness around the importance of holistic and collaborative community development, while also being one of many of the Foundation’s convenings, which collectively have brought in millions of dollars of revenue into the Virgin Islands’ economy. The week of Wine and the Warehouse, shops on St. Croix are busy, hotels are full, restaurants bustle, and distributors and wholesalers see a boost in sales. Another model of the power of strategic and coherent public, private, and civic sector partnerships, Wine in the Warehouse is a benefit for the territory that keeps on giving.
