Haley Cutler

Haley Cutler moved to St. Croix in August 2017, just a few weeks before Hurricane Maria. She first joined the St. Croix Foundation team as Disaster Recovery Coordinator and helped steward the Foundation’s early recovery and resiliency efforts. She then served as Executive Director of the St. Croix Animal Welfare Center before returning to the Foundation in her current capacity as Project Manager for the Alexander Theater Safe Room Retrofit project. This project, funded in large part by a FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant, will result in converting the historic Alexander Theater cinema into a state of the art, multipurpose facility capable of providing shelter for more 300 residents during times of disaster, and a performing arts center and convening space during blue skies. Originally from Florida, Haley has
more than 15 years of experience in the civic sector, having served in both executive and programmatic leadership roles prior to living in St. Croix. Haley holds an M.A. in Social Justice Education from Prescott College and a B.S. in Sociology and Women’s Studies from Florida State University. She is
particularly committed to the Foundation’s equity focused approach to community development work.
